Why Now?

Here I am at the old age of sixty three, looking to make a major change in my life. Why not? I’m semi-retired, I have the time and now the motivation to improve my health so that I can at last be slim(mer) and healthier than my previous 62 years. I’m tired of being tired, in declining health, and it’s about time I fought back!

So I’m looking at various and sundry diet plans and none of them seemed right for me. However, I was at my local pharmacy and there was a DNA kit on display for “Healthy Weight Management”. So I picked it up, sent in my sample and was floored by the report I got back. I got back a complete exercise plan and diet plan based on my DNA that was 30 pages long! The report also documented how I react to proteins, carbs, and fats, as well as certain dietary supplements. Then there was the lengthy report on what exercise is my best bet to lose weight and I was astonished and a little intimidated by the amount and the intensity of exercise I would have to do to be healthier. It was daunting! AND scary. I had never exercised that much since I was a kid. So here goes nothing. Or should I say something, a BIG something!

I still have to tweak the diet plan as there were some things on it I just can’t eat, like cheese and cows milk yogurt as I’m allergic to milk. I’ll keep you posted.
